Completing some iconic projects such as The Belle Tout Lighthouse, featuring on “Build a New Life in the Country” – being the main contractor for this project. This wealth of experience gives him an understanding of what people need, ultimately leading to the creation of Your Construction Shop.
Having lived in Seaford for over 25 years we felt something had to be done to limit rogue traders that affect so many people, especially the elderly.
Sadly, we have come across many tradesman that are not up to scratch and have abandoned projects, as well as elderly people that have be duped out of their life savings by unscrupulous contractors.
If you move into a new house and you want a sofa, you can go to your local furniture store, or for plants – your local garden centre. It’s always been the case that most towns have shops and retail parks nearby that you can visit, view products and speak to professional staff.
This provides you with choice, somewhere to sit and discuss your needs and most of all, somewhere local for your to know and trust. Sounds great, but when it comes to extensions or roof repairs for example, there are no extension shops you can visit. No, you have to pick a number out of the paper or rely on someone saying, 'this one does a good job'.
The person turns up and you have never met or seen before and contract with them to carry out £10,000’s of work. Yes there is Check-a-Trade, where any tradesman can pay to have their number listed. But imagine there was a shop, just like the furniture store, for you to visit and return to if anything goes wrong.
